I'd love to believe when T.I. said "I don't want no mediocre" he was talking about his ladies makeup. Lol I can't even take myself seriously with that - but hey, you did not wake up today to be mediocre - so your makeup shouldn't be mediocre!
I Don't Want No Mediocre Makeup 101
"Srsly.. Why do you need so many different brushes for one look?!" Well - you just do. Here's why:
Lesson Number 1: Investing in the right tools makes all the difference. It doesn't matter how good you are at makeup - if you don't have the right brushes, or product, your look will be mediocre. Just by improving the quality of your brushes and using pigmented products, your application will essentially look professional.
What kind of brushes do you need?
- Foundation Brush
- Concealer Brush
- Fluffy Powder Brush
- Blush Brush
- Small Blending Brush
- Flat Eyeshadow Brush
- Precision Angle Brush
- Lip Brush
Hate to say it but, it comes down to more than just owning the right brushes - it matters how you hold your brush! It's an MUA known fact that where you hold your brush handle affects your control. If your handling your brush close to the barrel (the metal part of the brush), the more pressure you use - therefore giving you a heavier look. The lower you hold the brush, the lighter the product goes on - giving you a softer look.
What brushes do I use? I prefer Mikasa Beauty brushes - https://www.mikasabeauty.com/ | Mikasa Beauty offers high-end brushes without paying the high-end price. Mikasa's brushes come in a convenient little container that makes it super easy for traveling to different appointments. These brushes are so soft and they blend like a dream! I've recently become an affiliate of Mikasa so to get my discount (15% off) just use: JENNA15 at checkout.
Sidenote: If you guys are into wearing lashes - Mikasa Beauty's lashes are to die for! I absolutely LOVE their lashes in "Big City Nights". Be sure to dabble into these - you will LOVE them just as much as I do.
Stay tuned for my next blog post coming soon - another beauty secret on how to get that "no makeup" makeup look :).
